Kumon Math and Reading Center of Teaneck

Kumon is an after-school learning program for students ranging from preschool to grade twelve. The Kumon program is intended to supplement the school curriculum, and help students to enhance their abilities in math and reading. The Kumon math program is designed to build a strong foundation and prepare students for high school level mathematics – from the basics of counting and number sequencing to more advanced math such as trigonometry, calculus, probability and statistics. Mental calculation skills are emphasized in the math program, as well as speed and accuracy. The Kumon reading program is designed to improve vocabulary and reading comprehension, while fostering a love of reading in students. The program material ranges from pre-reading skills, word building and sentence structure, to more advanced material such as critical reading, summation, and analysis.
